Matt has introduced me to my new favorite board game of all time so far: Tigris & Euphrates. It’s a little like Settlers of Catan, only different. There are rules and a turn-based online game available on the boardgamegeek website - so if anyone’s interested in learning the game and playing, let me know!
Tigris & Euphrates is great to play while working, because you get emailed when it’s your turn. Any amount of time can pass between moves, from a couple of minutes to hours - I’ve got three games going right now; one of them is with a person from Australia and a person from England, so our schedules don’t match up frequently, so the game moves at about two rounds per day. You can also set up private games, and those can finish fairly quickly.
After my first win (my second game, even; though Matt may have been playing a little loose), we celebrated with a long-distance high-five:

When Brendan and Alison were here a few weeks ago, we went to the Brooklyn Brewery to drink BEER. I thought it would be a good idea to take a quick group photo:

Unfortunately, my gigantic head seemed to have attracted the camera somehow. Tessa is playing with her new Treo.
I try again:

Okay, a little better. Tessa is still doing important law-related texting. My gigantic head was kept out of the center of the photograph by extreme willpower. If you look closely, you will see that a small amount of liquid (most likely beer) has spilled onto Brendan’s shirt. This is not terribly uncommon:

Brendan shipped something like 30 bottles of beer to us before they got to NYC. It arrived with only one broken bottle (and a broken glass)! I’ll be in Nebraska in a week, and am anxious to drink more of Brendan’s concoctions.
(or you will be soon, like me in about a year), this video will scare you. Via The Inquirer.
Congratulations to Ben and Amanda, who are getting married today, in about 15 and a half hours. I will be a proud groomsman (and emergency backup photographer)!
